Accounting technician and bookkeeper

You’ll have the opportunity to manage complete sets of books, keep account records and provide bookkeeping services to individuals and businesses.

Job description

  • Maintain financial records and establish, update and balance various accounts using manual or computerized bookkeeping systems
  • Journalize and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balances, maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements
  • Calculate and prepare payroll cheques, utility bills, tax bills and other invoices
  • Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers’ compensation forms, pension forms and other government documents
  • Prepare tax returns and provide other bookkeeping services for individuals
  • Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports

  • accounting or bookkeeping courses and several years’ experience as an accounting or financial services clerk are required
